Don’t Loose Sight

You go through life with ups and downs….
There are times that we smile, other times we frown.

We have goals that we want to make….
We don’t have to worry it is never to late.

Failure is success that is turned inside out….
So there is no reason for any of us to doubt.

We will have trials as life comes our way….
Sometimes we will not have the right words to say.

There will be times when our goals might feel out of reach….
It still OK to go relax, for it is time to hit the beach.

Your Dreams will come true if you work the best that you can….
You don’t have to rely on only your own hands.

Remember your heart and your Spirit Inside….
Then go for the gusto and give it a try.

My Father…

I always thought that my dad was bad
but then i realized that without him i was sad

so this is my attempt to come out of hide
and for me to always have him by my side

because without him my life was crappy
but now that i have him i am happy

Hard Road

You’ve traveled a road that has been hard
You might have even been bared

You can’t seem to figure things out
You are still filled with much doubt

You come at peace with your disease
You think that you are finally set free

Than you see what others do
You turn so cold and feel so blew

Don’t worry my Child I am Here For You
Do as I say not as they Do

You will be known as a Child Of Mine
Some others it just takes more time….

Give freely of yourself and keep on your pace
Remember my Child this isn’t a Race…

Your hopes Your dreams are within reach
You my Child I am very Pleased

Spring Is Here

Here we sit in a room with hope
Today again, I’m not doing dope…

I think about the Spring that has come
Just very Grateful today to be without Rum…

I took some time to plant some seed
For my yard it brings happiness to me…

I’ve been watering the seed so it doesn’t dry up
It’s like our soul, we have to maintain and grow it up…

Seeing the Sprouts that are turning into blades
The water evaporates through the suns rays…

So you go back out to keep it wet
It’s like Recovery making sure that it is kept…

Kept up on the maintenance through out this time
Look around and to find hardly any clouds in the sky…

We are blessed to have this day today
We are blessed to be alive so we can even pray

We have to remember that it is surly a gift
And not a piece of wood that you would find adrift.

The peace that comes from just that blade of grass
Will help you to realize that this too will pass

So Keep your head up and your spirit alive
And than just maybe we won’t have to go on that vicious ride.

    My Heavens Door

I have always thought that I was a pretty smart guy
Thanks like a fool I began to get high

Once I started I thought I was all that
And Look at me today, I don’t even have a coat rack

I went to college to become a minister
Than something happened and I got a detour

I detoured down the road that new no end
I lived a life that was basically full of sin

I didn’t care what I took and from who
Maybe that is why Sober I feel so blew

I feel sometimes that the wind is always pushing me back
Than them thoughts go to picking up a 6 Pack!

Once I start to drink it don’t take long
I have done a loader and start to sing that same damn song.

The song that I sing is never the same
Sad to say that my life was so plain

I got the glamor out of life in my 30′s
Beer, Wine, Pot and Meth and even some dirties

Than in the 40′s I found AA
They told me that I had to learn how to pray

They said it didn’t matter if I believed or not
Just keep coming back and don’t listen to those thoughts

The thoughts that Life Is NO LONGER LIVING FOR
I am now ready to enter Heavens Door

Today

Today I walk with my head up high
Sometimes it is hard to just get by

When we all pull together with every thought
We know that the love we have can never be bought

Today we join our hands to walk in true light
Knowing that each day is so full of life

Giving each other the support that we need
Without having to be full of greed

So Today we are as one looking toward the sun
We don’t have to turn around today and run

Today is cool for I have found a new life
I am a child at heart with a new kite

We strive so much to be happy today
Maybe we should just let go and pray

Today we have a choice in what we want to be
And today that choice is to be free

Free from the misery that we lived
Now today we can truly give

Give hope to the people that we meet
Excuse me now I have to PEE!

There Is Hope

If you are new to this site
Pull up a chair and give up the fight

We all know what it was like in those days
You couldn’t even feel the suns rays

But if you just take a deep breath
Hold on to our hands and do the rest

You can beat this alcohol and drugs
You don’t have to stay on that rug

Get up and dust yourself off today
And tell yourself just for today

I don’t have to drink or use
And then you know that you will not loose

We know how hard it is at first
If your like me you will want to curse

Thats ok if that is what you need
Just remember to water the seed

The seed of life is in your days ahead
You will be able to lay down in bed

Knowing that you did the best that you can do
Then the days won’t be so blue

Remember not to dwell on the past mistakes
Go ahead and give yourself a break

For none of us are perfect in any way
I just wanted to say Hey
